These are the general contents of this book:
Lesson 1: ¡Hola!
Grammar: Personal pronouns and gender of pronouns (ellos/ellas, nosotros/nosotras). The use of the verb “llamarse”.
Vocabulary: Greetings and farewells. How to introduce yourself.
Lesson 2: ¿De dónde eres?
Grammar: Conjugation of the verb “ser” (to be). Plural of nouns.
Vocabulary: Nationalities and countries.
Lesson 3: Mi familia
Grammar: Possessive pronouns. Gender of nouns. The words “este/esta/estos/estas” (this/these).
Vocabulary: Family members.
Lesson 4: ¿Dónde vives?
Grammar: Verbs “vivir” (to live) and “estar” (to be). The difference between “ser” and “estar”. Definite and indefinite articles. The words “por qué” (why) and “porque” (because).
Vocabulary: Places and cities.
Lesson 5: Me gusta mi trabajo
Grammar: The verbs “trabajar” (to work), “estudiar” (to study), and “querer” (to want). The use of the construction “Me gusta” (I like) and the pronouns “me/te/le/nos/os/les”.
Vocabulary: Professions and workplaces.
Lesson 6: ¿Hablas español?
Grammar: The verbs “hablar” (to speak), “leer” (to read), “escribir” (to write), “entender” (to understand), “hacer” (to do). How to use “mucho/mucha/muchos/muchas” (a lot of). The prepositions “con” (with) and “de” (of, from).
Vocabulary: Languages. Adverbs of frequency.
Lesson 7: Vamos a la playa
Grammar: The usage of “ir” (to go) to express the future. Verbs “ver” (to see), “descansar” (to rest), “saber” (to know), and “tener” (to have). How to use “hay” (there is/are).
Vocabulary: Free time and holidays.
Lesson 8: Días de la semana
Grammar: Numbers 0-20. How to tell the time. The Verbs “desayunar” (to have breakfast), “comer” (to have lunch), “cenar” (to have dinner), “comprar” (to buy), “decir” (to say), “dormir” (to sleep), and “empezar” (to start). The expression “tener que” (to have to).
Vocabulary: Days of the week and time. Daily activities.
Lesson 9: Comida
Grammar: The verbs “tomar” (to have), “necesitar” (to need), “cocinar” (to cook), “beber” (to drink), “preferir” (to prefer), and “poder” (can). The pronouns “lo/la/los/las” as direct objects.
Vocabulary: Food and drinks. Colours.
Lesson 10: ¡Feliz cumpleaños!
Grammar: The verbs “celebrar” (to celebrate), “buscar” (to search), “bailar” (to dance), “cantar” (to sing), “regalar” (to give a gift), “viajar” (to travel), “jugar” (to play) and “tocar” (to play an instrument). The expression “estar + gerundio”. Numbers 20-100.
Vocabulary: Age and celebrations. The months of the year.
